Outdoors

Outdoor activities are a fundamental element of the Australian Guide Program. Girls and Leaders should feel confident to explore, be safe in and enjoy the outdoors.

 The Rule of Three

When you travel into the outdoors, for a day or for a week, whether you are going hiking or canoeing or just on a trip to take pictures, you should always follow the Rule of Three. The Rule of Three says that you should always travel in a group of AT LEAST three people.

There are many reasons why you would want to travel with this many people, but the most important reason is in case somebody gets hurt.  If there are three people (or more) in your group, one person can stay with the hurt person, while somebody gets help.

If there are only two people, who stays with the hurt person when someone goes for help?  If there is only one person, who goes for help?!
