2010 will be an exciting year for all Girl Guide members past and present. Come along and join in the fun in this huge year of celebrations. The activities will reflect on the fascinating history of Guiding, how it has changed over the years and adapted to the times.

ACE is the celebration for you!  Girl Guides Victoria is hosting this event for Girl Guides Australia to celebrate 100 years of Guiding in 2010. It will be a fabulous week of activities for you to have fun with friends. You will get to try all sorts of things. You will all be camping outdoors. The tents will be ready for you when you arrive.

When do we party:
3 - 9 January 2010

Where at: Britannia Park, Yarra Junction, Victoria

Who is invited: Guides 10 -17 years (at the start of the event) from Australia and invited Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from WAGGGS member organisations, Leaders aged 18 +

Cost: approximately A$800.00 let's start saving

How to apply: Applications forms will be available from November 2008

What can you expect?

It is hard to explain. The activities will be so varied it is best to come and see for yourself but maybe you will have a chance to -

  • Explore Melbourne on the ACE race.

  • Choose from horseriding (or could be camel riding), sailing in a tall ship or a small dinghy.

  • Explore the Victorian goldrush at Sovereign Hill, you might be lucky and strike gold.

  • Visit the home of the fairy penguins and seals at Phillip Island.

  • You could surf, cave, help sick animals or visit a zoo.

  • Swim, try clowning and juggling, learn crafts or challenge yourself on the ropes course.

Best of all you can make friends with Guides from all over Australia and Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from invited member organisations, experience exciting challenges and have a great time. Help us celebrate 100 years of Guiding around the world by joining the party at Britannia Park, January 2010.

Meet Pippa Penguin, she will be the mascot for ACE. She appears on the logo and will also appear on all things connected with ACE.
