Membership - Triple Treat Badge

The Triple Treat Badge is a girl-focused membership initiative to encourage girls to invite their friends (both youth and adult) to join Guides.

A proven membership fix

The Triple Treat strategy was introduced in 2003 to increase the number of Guides in a Unit. It utilises the proven method of personal invitations for recruiting volunteers.

The strategy is very effective when –

bullet

the visitor feels welcomed and included in the programmed activities

bullet

the activities provide fun and stimulation

bullet

an incentive to return is included

bullet

relevant Guiding information is sent home

bullet

the Guides in the Unit have been involved in planning the activities for their visitors

This is how it works –

bullet

When a Guide introduces a friend who then joins (becomes a member) in the current year, she will receive an ice cream cone badge with one scoop.

bullet

Each time a Guide introduces another new friend who joins, she receives another scoop of a different colour.

bullet

There is no limit to the number of friends she can introduce to Guiding, and no limit to the number of ‘scoop’ badges she can earn.

bullet

The form below must be filled in and submitted when you apply for the Triple Treat badge within six months of the new girl starting.

bullet

Twice a year 6 Units ( three Junior Guide Units and three Guide Units) who receive the most scoops will be awarded a free ice cream for each current member.

bullet Applications for the 2007 counts close on 31 May and 31 October
bullet

Badges are free and can be worn on the sash.
