Welcome to Guiding in NSW & the ACT!

Who are Guides?
Membership of Girl Guides NSW & ACT is open to girls from 5 to 18 years of age, and women 18 years and over. As a Guide Member, you belong to Girl Guides Australia and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, which has over 10 million members in 140 countries.

What do Guides do?
Guides try a wide range of activities, appropriate to their age and abilities. The girls decide, plan, participate in and evaluate their program, which is facilitated by an accredited trained adult volunteer leader.

The girls belong to a local Unit, which is divided into two or more small groups called Patrols.  Through their Patrol activities, the Guides gain skills in communication, teamwork, decision making and leadership, which help prepare them for life.
